About Us / The Association
Who We Are We founded the Shakti Niwas association on February 22, 2023. We are a dedicated team based in Freiburg and Karlsruhe, comprising entrepreneurs, educators, and professionals from the fields of healthcare, nursing, and business. We are united by a shared goal: to enable a better future for girls in India and to provide tangible assistance—precisely where it is needed most.
Our Chairwoman, Anurima Sharma, grew up in Bulandshahr (Uttar Pradesh) and now lives in Freiburg. Together with the other founders, she witnessed firsthand the challenges many girls in India face; these experiences inspired the desire to take active steps to bring about change.

Our Goals We are fully committed to opening up new opportunities for disadvantaged girls in North India through concrete measures and sustainable engagement:
- Long-term goal: Establishing a residential home for children in Bulandshahr (Uttar Pradesh) Creating a safe haven offering medical, social, and legal support
- Conducting educational outreach in schools, particularly on issues specific to women and girls Providing menstrual hygiene products
- Durchführung von Aufklärungsarbeit an Schulen, insbesondere zu frauenspezifischen Themen
- Supplying school materials and bicycles, and ensuring access to education
- Fostering self-confidence, independence, and future prospects
- We firmly believe that education, awareness-raising, and a safe environment are the keys to a happy, self-determined life.
