We support girls in India.
We founded the Shakti Niwas association on February 22, 2023, with the aim of helping girls in India. We are a group of entrepreneurs, educators, and professionals from the health, care, and business sectors based in Freiburg and Karlsruhe.
Our long-term goal is to establish a residential home for children in Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh (North India). Our Chairwoman, Anurima Sharma, grew up in Bulandshahr herself and now lives in Freiburg im Breisgau. She and the association’s founders have personally witnessed the hardships faced by many girls in India.
The Shakti Niwas association aims to provide local children with a safe haven offering medical, social, and legal support.
In addition, we organize social projects specifically designed to empower girls in the region. These initiatives include raising awareness in schools and providing menstrual hygiene products, but focus primarily on supplying school materials and educational opportunities. We are convinced that through education and awareness-raising, we can support children and young people on their path toward a happier, self-determined life.
